Photographs obtained by this publication show Team Cedar member Millie Vernillie in deep conversation with a known sports betting intermediary—raising questions about potential match manipulation.
The images, captured outside a restaurant frequented by gambling figures, show Vernillie passing what appears to be a thick envelope to his companion. Shortly after the meeting, odds on Team Cedar winning the Showdown dropped by several points at offshore betting sites.
“When odds shift that dramatically without an obvious cause, money is usually talking. Big money.”

"The timing is suspicious, to say the least," said gambling analyst Frank DeMario. "When odds shift that dramatically without an obvious cause, money is usually talking. Big money."
Vernillie's financial troubles are well-documented. His cryptocurrency ventures have largely collapsed, with PipeCoin losing 99% of its value in the past year. Several creditors have filed suit against him.
"The man is desperate," said a former business associate. "He owes money to people you don't want to owe money to. If someone offered him cash to throw a match... I wouldn't put it past him."
Cedar's camp has issued a statement declaring "full confidence" in all team members and calling the photographs "out of context." Vernillie himself has refused multiple requests for comment.
Tournament officials have announced an investigation but emphasized that "no evidence of wrongdoing" has been confirmed.
Mike Tucker, asked for his reaction, simply smiled. "Interesting times. Very interesting times."
